Avi Ahuja

MPP Candidate

Avi Ahuja is a second-year MPP student at Harris Public Policy, where he works as a research assistant for Pearson Institute Director James Robinson and for Pearson Faculty Affiliate Raul Sánchez de la Sierra. In the summer of 2020, he completed a research internship with Upland Advisors, a sustainable peacebuilding advisory nonprofit.

Prior to his time at the University of Chicago, Avi Ahuja worked with the World Bank in Lusaka, Zambia as a consultant on agribusiness and trade projects for a development impact evaluation research group. Previously, he worked as a monitoring and evaluation consultant for German aid agency Welthungerhilfe and as a senior research associate at Innovations for Poverty Action, both in Monrovia, Liberia. He has also worked as a research associate with the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) in Odisha, India and as a consultant with International Innovation Corps in New Delhi, India.

Ahuja holds a BSc in finance from the University of Delhi and a postgrad diploma in liberal arts from Ashoka University. He speaks Hindi.
