Harris Public Policy students visited Zaatari refugee camp as part of the 2018 Pearson International Conflict Seminar to Jordan, where they met with Syrian refugees leading NGO programming within the camp.

Research and Policy
Daria Zelenina holds an MA in economics from the New Economics School in Moscow, Russia, and a BS in applied mathematics and physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in Dolgoprudny, Russia. Before applying to the PhD program at Harris Public Policy, she completed two years of doctoral studies in economics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).
While at UIUC, Zelenina worked as a research assistant for Professor Min Chul Shin and as a teaching assistant for macroeconomics and statistics courses. Her research interests include political economy, economic development, and policy analysis. Her master’s thesis examined the effect of terrorism on school enrollment using evidence from Pakistan. She speaks Russian and French.
