Daniel Vallejo

Daniel Vallejo, MPP'21, is General Director at Soluna Energía in Colombia.

While at Harris Public Policy, Vallejo was awarded a Wilson Fellowship to work as a research assistant with Anant Sudarshan, South Asia Director at the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago, analyzing conflict and economic issues in India related to heat islands. In the summer of 2020, Vallejo completed an internship with the House of Representatives for the Congress of the Republic of Colombia, as a member of Congresswomen Juanita Goebertus’ Technical Legislative Unit. He was also a winner of a Fulbright Fellowship for 2019-2021.

Prior to his time at the University of Chicago, Vallejo worked as a civil engineer focused on rural reform in Colombia, most recently as a water specialist with Fundación Grupo Argos, and previously as a director’s assessor at Fondo Colombia en Paz, where he supported the post-conflict implementation of rural reform provisions of the peace agreement. He previously worked on a USAID project designed to secure water resources access in post-conflict zones and rural regions, and as a water resources coordinator for the Semana Foundation.

Vallejo holds an MSc in water resources civil engineering and a BSc in civil engineering from Universidad de los Andes. He speaks Spanish.
