Daria Zelenina

Daria Zelenina holds an MA in economics from the New Economics School in Moscow, Russia and a BS in applied mathematics and physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in Dolgoprudny, Russia. Her master’s thesis examined the effect of terrorism on school enrollment using evidence from Pakistan. Before entering the PhD program at Harris Public Policy, she completed two years of doctoral studies in economics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).

While at UIUC, Zelenina worked as a research assistant for Professor Min Chul Shin and as a teaching assistant for macroeconomics and statistics courses. Her research interests include political economy, economic development, and policy analysis. She speaks Russian and French.
