Why We Fight: Gun Violence, Interventions, and the Cost of Conflict

Conflict is costly for our communities and society as a whole, but also for the individuals who are most directly impacted. Yet despite the measurable social, economic, and political costs to violence, high rates of gun violence remain a reality in Chicago and in cities across the United States, as evidenced by many devastating recent events.

In his new book, Why We Fight, Professor Christopher Blattman discusses the roots of war and the paths to peace – not just around the globe, but right here in US cities. Join Professor Blattman in a discussion with Dr. Chico Tillmon, Chris Patterson, and Monica Bhatt, moderated by Evelyn J. Diaz, President of Heartland Alliance.
