Yemen's Civil War - and How the U.S. is Involved

Since 2015, a civil war has raged between the Yemeni government and the Houthi rebel movement. The conflict is estimated to have caused the deaths of more than 60,000 people since 2016 and placed two thirds of the country’s population in food insecurity. How did the war get to this point? What has been U.S. and European involvement in the region? And, most importantly, what happens next?

The Pearson Institute will cosponsor, with the University of Chicago's Institute of Politics and the Pulitzer Center, a conversation about the Yemeni Civil War featuring journalists Maggie Michael and Jeffrey E. Stern. This event will be moderated by Pearson Faculty Affiliate Paul Poast.
