The Pearson Institute International Conflict Seminars (PICS) are programs where students can focus on critical issues of global conflict through immersive international experiences. In December 2018, students from Harris Public Policy visited Jordan, engaging with government officials, NGOs, community leaders and more, to gain a holistic perspective of global conflicts relevant to the region.

Pascal Brice, Director-General of the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons (OFPRA), gave a lecture moderated by Kara Ross Camarena, Postdoctoral Scholar at The Pearson Institute. Pascal Brice has served as the Director-General of OFPRA (French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons) since December 2012. This event was cosponsored by The France Chicago Center at the University of Chicago, the Consulate General of France in Chicago, The University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration, The University of Chicago Law School International Programs and International Human Rights Clinic, and The Pozen Family Center for Human Rights.
