Mahsa Rouhi

Mahsa Rouhi is Research Fellow at the Institute for National Strategic Studies at the National Defense University. She was previously a research fellow in the Non-proliferation and Nuclear Policy Programme at the International Institute for Strategic Studies. Her research primarily focuses on nuclear policy and security strategy in the Middle East, particularly Iran.

She codirects the Geopolitics and Nuclear Issues in the Middle East project with Dana Allin. The project, funded by Carnegie Corporation of New York, convenes track-two workshops and brings together policymakers and experts globally.

She is currently working on a book project that focuses on grand strategy and security decision making in Iran. Rouhi’s analysis and commentary has been published by Foreign Policy, the New York Times, The Guardian, Boston Globe, the National Interest, Survival, and other media outlets and she has consulted government and nongovernment organizations on nuclear issues and Iran.
