Reema Saleh, MPP'23, is the Senior Communications Coordinator at Northwestern University’s Roberta Buffett Institute for Global Affairs and an independent journalist and media producer.

While at Harris Public Policy, she completed the global Conflict and International Development certificates. With the Pearson Institute, she was the lead producer of the Root of Conflict podcast, worked as a research assistant for Pearson Faculty Affiliate Kara Ross Camarena, and interned with the Institute for Governance Reform, a think tank based in Freetown, Sierra Leone. She sat on the leadership teams for the University of Chicago Public Policy Podcasts and the International Development Policy Association, wrote for the Chicago Policy Review, and co-directed a documentary through the Cinema and Media Studies department. As a journalist, she was a racial justice fellow with the Chicago Reader and a regular contributor to the Chicago Reader, South Side Weekly, Hyde Park Herald, Chicago Review of Books, and other outlets.

Before joining Harris Public Policy, she completed internships with Partners Global, Freedom House, Advocates for Youth, and the U.S. State Department's Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration. Saleh holds undergraduate degrees in public policy studies and creative writing from the University of Chicago. During her studies, she founded the student-run Partnership for the Advancement of Refugee Rights. She received honors for her thesis, a qualitative study exploring the role of internet messaging in refugee assistance programs. She was awarded the Boren Scholarship for Arabic language studies in Jordan and studied abroad in Morocco. She speaks Arabic and Spanish.
