Marissa Block

Pearson Fellow Alum


Marissa Block, MPP'19, is an analytics team lead at Fraym, a geospatial data company that uses proprietary machine learning algorithms to deliver precise, local-level information about people in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

While at Harris Public Policy, Block worked as a research assistant for the UChicago Urban Labs and as a staff writer for the Chicago Policy Review. In summer 2018, she interned in New Delhi, India, with Harvard's Evidence for Policy Design.

Prior to her time at the University of Chicago, Block worked as an economic research assistant with Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), where she supported the development of cost-benefit models for education projects in El Salvador and Côte d’Ivoire. 

Block holds an undergraduate degree in economics and Middle Eastern studies from Trinity College, where she studied abroad in London at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London, and in Morocco at the Arab American Language Institute.
