Olivia Carneiro

Olivia Carneiro, MPP'19, is a digital content creator at Borrifada Sensata, where she contributes to Brazilian democracy through data analysis and political economy education. She was previously a research assistant at the Chicago Center on Democracy.

While at Harris Public Policy, Carneiro developed a start-up, Ariel, a mobile system encouraging low-income parents in Brazil to prepare their children for school. In summer 2018, she completed an internship with Hashdex, a tech startup that exists to bridge the crypto world and traditional markets and unlock the blockchain potential globally. 

Prior to her time at the University of Chicago, she worked as an economic consultant, advocating for issues related to competition, regulation, and public interest law, and with Mapa Educação, an organization dedicated to improving public education in Brazil. She was also politically active in her community, working to create a campaign to elect a local politician in São Paulo. She was chosen as a ProLider Fellow in 2016.

She holds a bachelor of science degree in economics from the University of São Paulo.
