Smriti Ganapathi

PhD Student

Smriti Ganapathi is a PhD student at the Harris School of Public Policy. Her research interests include the applications of behavioral science to criminal justice as well as poverty eradication.

Ganapathi comes to the University of Chicago after working as a research assistant for Philip K. Pearson Professor Oeindrila Dube at the Harris School for two years on a portfolio of global conflict-related research. She has previously worked in research roles at J-PAL in Chennai, India, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in Rome, and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Vienna.

Ganapathi holds an MSc in Economics and Social Sciences from Bocconi University in Milan and an undergraduate degree from the University of Mumbai.
